The origin of Santa Claus
In Turkey around 280 BC there was a bishop named Nicholas who helped the poor and needy by leaving a bag of coins beside the chimneys of houses. In the middle ages the bishop was consecrated as St. Nicholas for his miracles.
In the 19th century Thomas Nast creates the traditional red clothes with white accents and black belt. In 1931 Coca Cola globalized Santa Claus in a major advertising campaign.
In the 21st century we reflect on the meaning of his image of good old man to focus on the true motive of the celebration, the Child Jesus.
